half-past-work

At work. Have shit to do. Not doing it. I barely woke up in time to get here to open. I think I need to adjust my night med doses to compensate for this whole "omg exhausted" thing.

In theory GM will be here in a half hour. I am not holding out hope. She didn't show up last night and didn't even bother calling in. I called HER and we played phone tag for a little bit (me alone = phones not getting answered when there are customers here). That means, since Susan has no one to watch her son this weekend, I get to do today and tomorrow entirely by myself. Well, Susan will be in for an hour or so this afternoon, but still.

I bought two more audiobooks last night - Labyrinth of Evil and Jedi Trial. They are abridged, unlike my beautiful wonderful RotS audiobook. I'm going to get the "Dark Empire" audiodrama later this week. I have it on tape, but I want it on CD so I can listen to it at work.

I wish they would do more of those audiodramas as opposed to just straight reading. It would cost more to produce and hence to buy, but I would SO buy them. Comic books lend themselves better to such things, but still. *shrug*

Okay, back to work. I can't log into the store email so I can't do anything productive in terms of sending our register reconciliation stuff or anything like that. *shrug* Oh well.

Yeah, so, GM? Didn't show up. Not surprised.

We did over $2000 in business today, and I was... by myself. No stress, huh? *shrug* It wasn't too horrific, but I'm exhausted and my feet are killing me.

I'm of the "laid-back what happens happens" school of management, and I rarely if ever get really angry over internal shit - Blockbuster nonwithstanding. Frustrated, yes. Annoyed, sure. But angry? Nah, I've got better things to be angry about. But this... GM is now on my bad side. And being on my bad side is like being on Obi-Wan's bad side - I WILL lop off limbs, kthnx.

I gave her THREE numbers at which she could reach me last night to let me know if she would be in today. She didn't call any of them, and didn't bother calling the store during the day today. I would have called her, but I didn't have time. THAT pisses me off. We hired her because she wanted a lot of hours. She worked three shifts in the two weeks she's been employed with us. NOT cool. SO not cool.

So. Yeah. :P I'll be around tonight, at least for a little while. I want to finish the icon set I'm doing using some of bodeewan's lovely manips and I want to keep working on the scar angst fic. :) But I might take a bath first. :)
