can you say 'sex' on the intraweb?

Thanks to the CoinStar cash converter machine at my local Stop 'n' Shop, I have the necessary fundage to get myself a domain name and hosting on slashcity.net. Depending on the credit card situation, it will happen sometime this month.

This is more than good. I'm always iffy about putting certain things on the free hosting pages - I really don't want to get TOS'd because I offended someone's sense of moral decency (not that I don't think some people's sense of moral decency should be offended). I know the chances of it happening are fairly remote, but still. And as much as I love Dementia's Chasm, I think it might just be easier (and would free up more space for emeraldgreensea) to have everything on one site. Plus I've always wanted my own domain name. :)

As far as the name goes, I tossed a few ideas around, but most of them were taken. And I know if I did www.compuglobalhypermeganet.com, I'd get people mad about not having The Simpsons content. So, I decided on www.regulators-lair.com. Because, well, the Regulator kicks serious one-shot character ass.

I vaugly remember my first website. It was a serious eyesore, with horrible backgrounds, no overall theme, blinky text, animated .gifs... and background MIDI files on every page. Painful, really. I like to think my design style has matured since then. :) Although, apparently, there were stories on there I don't even remember writing. Which is odd.

So anyway, I'll make some sort of big announcement when the whole thing is ready. :)

snow!

Yep, it's snowing. A lot. I thought I was going to die on my way home. None of the roads are plowed - not even the highway. At least my windshield is clean now. :)

On my way to class I was having a panic attack because my windshield was exceptionally dirty and I ran out of wiper fluid. And with the oncoming headlights, I couldn't see how close I was to the guardrail. I can drive in any conditions provided I can see, and I couldn't see. It was awful. I ended up finding a water bottle and pouring it over the windshield while I was at a stoplight. Needless to say, I was pretty proud of my ingenuity.

I think I'm going to take down my site in the next couple days, just temporarily, to get the new look set up. I might. I might not. It's really hard to be editing and not being able to see how the images work because of the linking thing. I edit funny, and I'm sure there's an easier way... oh well...

Okay, back to making up new icon pages. :)
