So I am currently the chapter president for Alpha Kappa Lambda - MassBay's chapter for Phi Theta Kappa.
The regional president and regional advisor came to our meeting today and they both basically put me in the position because, apparently, I'm qualified or have good ideas or something I must have conveyed over the course of the meeting. I never thought my little theater group with Kate or Ashland High School Theatrical Society would come in handy! So yeah, there's that. The regional pres, who is the coolest woman ever, gave me the Resource Manual and the promo DVD and a disk with all sorts of powerpoint presentations and stuff on it.
And they want to send me to the national convention in June - which is being held, interestingly enough, in Las Vegas. So I think I'm going to not do the Babson camp this year so I can take my math class during the second session so I can take all of June to do what I really want to do. Which is go to this conference.
And then in the fall (or maybe next fall, I don't remember) there's the International Conference in Seattle, which I'm also probably going to be going to.
I need to do some promo poster mockups for the advisor, and I need to start planning the induction ceremony. Can anyone say robes and vestments?
I really wish my mom was home so I could gush to her about this, but I'll have to wait until after work.
Oh, and I got my self-portrait printed, which was the main goal of getting out of bed today. Good thing I did!!
