everybody look at your pants!
Jan. 29th, 2006 05:10 pmOkay, it's not time for the Safety Dance just yet, but the subject header was appropriate. I got a kickass pair of cords that I can wear to work - and that I'm not horrified to be seen in public in - at Lane Bryant for $15. Massive sale - 60% off. I was going to get jeans, too, but I have about five pairs now that fit me again so I decided not to. But I did need new work pants and a belt, and this came with a belt, so all is well in the world. :)
I am in a good mood. I trust I will continue to be in a good mood.
Susan might be getting a new job, which means a raise and upward position shift for me, which will kick SO much ass. I'll miss Susan, of course, but dude. My own store. Associates or no, that's awesome on the resume. Granted, the position I'm in now is good on the resume considering my job description, but still. My own store would be SO cool. And it won't be for long enough to burn me out, either - probably just long enough to find and train a replacement. And if I don't go salary (which I don't think I will because it's a hassle), I get time and a half for overtime, which I will be putting in. See, if I'm going to be there for 50+ hours a week, I damn well am going to get paid for 50+ hours a week. Same benefits, just better pay. Much better pay, and I don't think Michelle - the DL - will argue because, as previously stated, it's not a long-term thing. Besides the fact the bonuses I would be making as salaried for the store being one of the best in the district would be about the same as the overtime would be, so... hell, as long as I manage my labor effectively, I can't see why it would be an issue.
So, anyway, good mood. New pants. Yay for weekends off!
