corporate networking
Feb. 7th, 2006 11:30 amNext week I'm being sent to an HR training course for two days. Probably because I'm being "groomed" for a store manager position, but also likely because Susan has already gone to it. It's in Burlington - where I've never been - and I'm picking up another girl in Worcester on my way. Instead of making the drive twice, we're going to stay overnight at the hotel. Hilton Gardens, baby! I figure it will be a good way to not have to get up at 5am two days in a row, plus it will be a chance to get to know other people in the company.
I'm going to ask my mom if I can bring her laptop, since the rooms have complimentary internet access, but I'm not sure she'll say yes. If I tell her I'm going to use it during the conference, she might be more amenable, but still. I'll know more once it gets closer to that time.
So that's what's been going on in my life. I'm a retail/corporate lower-middle manager who just so happened to fall into a cool opportunity. Also, who can't decide whether to go back to bed or go do something with the four hours she has before she has to meet with her trainer.
