Things were going fine until about 5:30, when the server computer decided to crash. Like, die completely and utterly. Thus, I had to write out reciepts for every customer and do the math out for taxes and whatnot. Luckily, I know what everything costs before and after taxes so it wasn't too hard.
I called tech support and explained the issue and they said if there was a spare server lying around, they would bring it in tomorrow. Which means nothing gets checked in and I can't accept credit cards and need to continue doing handwritten reciepts until it comes in.
I couldn't do any of the closing paperwork, and I'm going to have to go through when the new server gets there and key in all of the transactions I did from 5:30 on. It's going to suck.
The videos we just recieved still have to be entered into the inventory, and I need to also recieve the candy order into inventory. I'm going to be at work a lot later than 4 tomorrow, I think. Which totally sucks, but at the same time it means I can go home early on Friday, and have a longish weekend.
But still. Suck. Most of the customers were pretty understanding, but some of them got peeved that I couldn't take their credit cards - even though I posted signs on the doors and the counter. But then again, people are stupid and don't read so I'm not sure why I'm so surprised.
