IF I HAD 'NADS THEY WOULD BE FROZEN
Jan. 19th, 2008 09:55 pmIt's -20 degrees here.
This would not be so bad, however, my apartment (HEAT AND WATER INCLUDED!), despite the heat being on all the way, feels to be about... 40-ish. I'm wearing gloves and two pairs of socks. The air in the refrigerator is warmer than it is in the rest of the apartment. I left out my cream cheese last night by accident and it's still good. I'm pretty sure if I put my milk next to the window, there would be ice crystals in it within an hour.
On Monday I am going to go talk to the Super, because this is ridonkulous. I pay my rent, I pay more than I owe most of the time just to keep the numbers rounded, I shouldn't have to freeze my fucking ass off in the middle of winter. I also shouldn't have to risk life and limb every time I go out of the building because nobody thinks sanding or salting the concrete patio between buildings or the fucking suicide-stairs is a good use of their time.
Tomorrow I'm going to go to WalMart and get one of those indoor/outdoor thermometers. And a space heater.
