I MADE ARTS
Jan. 24th, 2010 03:35 pmI've been drawing a lot lately. I drew this for Jessica because she asked so nicely. That's supposed to be Nathan's shadow.
Okay, I feel like this is "okay" for a first-time full(ish) body with no real reference, but I always feel like everything is sloppy and FLAT. Does anybody have any suggestions on techniques to add better dimensionality? I try to use coloring and shadow, but it never looks quite right. The sketches I did in the bookstore yesterday came out more polished-looking, IDK. HELP! I WANT TO DO GOOD ARTS! It's frustating because I've taken art classes, gotten accepted into a few art schools, but on the basis on my landscapes and still life - those things require proper use of perspective and dimension too, dammit! The only thing I've done that looks "good/real" is the Anakin/Obi-Wan thing, but that took literally three weeks of color matching and pointilism, I don't really consider it "drawing", per se.
Anyway. I know a bunch of you guys are like ridonk talented - I hate to be like "omg, you are such a good artist tell me how to draw", but... uh... mostly I'm just looking for some tips - I use a Wacom bamboo tablet and Photoshop.
( Charles just wanted to get his paperwork done )
