First thing's first: whenever I get a letter in the mail from the school, I always freak out. Mostly because I'm used to getting "You are currently failing" notices. Today was no different in the freaking out bit. I had a letter from the office of student development, and I opened it expecting bad news. Instead:

Dr. Lindsay Norman, President, and James Regan, Dean of Students, cordially invite you to the Massachusetts Bay Community College "Student Recognition 2004" ceremony to be held in your honor on Friday, May 7, 2004 from 5:30 p.m to 8:30p.m at the Wellesley Hills campus.

This special event will recognize the academic and co-curricular contributions of honor society members, academic award winners, and student organization leaders. You may invite two guests to join you. Appropriate dress required.

We look forward to celebrating your contributions to MassBay!

My first thought was: this is a mistake. My second thought was: it's probably not, because I've been working my ass off these past two semesters, plus doing the play and running around getting the art show set up. Third thought ran along the lines of "oh, shit, I hope that's not the same night Grease opens", so I called Elisa and asked, and it doesn't overlap at all - and she's invited too! So happiness for all.

I've never been so wonderfully confused in all my life. :)
