So I voted today. That was cool. Listening to the radio this morning on the way to school pissed me off, though. Not because the DJs on WAAF lean one way or the other - that's fine. It was this one caller who told Mistress Carrie that she shouldn't be allowed to vote because one of her reasons for voting for Kerry was to get Bush out of office. Something along the lines of "you people shouldn't be allowed to vote." I turned the channel because they all started yelling at each other, so I didn't hear the end of it. But, really, who cares why you vote? What matters is that you get out there and do it, and in a way and for reasons you can feel good about. If you believe in what Bush is saying and doing and vote for Bush, that's fine. If you believe in what Kerry is saying and doing and vote for Kerry, that's fine too. Hell, you could write in Harrison Ford if that's what you really believed in, and that would still be fine. What matters is that your voice is heard, otherwise, what's the point? Democracy, like dodgeball, only works if people want to play. And, like dodgeball, even if you get winged in the head, you know you did what you could.
Thus concludes the obligatory Election Day post. I had a better one up, but LJ ate it. :P
Also, screw the network coverage. I'm watching The Daily Show. :)
